New Zealand is by far the most beautiful place we have seen so far. The scenery was so incredible that it did not look real and we felt as though we were in a painting.
The bus ride from Christchurch to Queenstown, New Zealand:
Mount Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand.
There are more sheep than people in New Zealand and you can see them grazing all over the hills and mountains.
Queenstown, New Zealand:
Fergburger- New Zealand beef burger... amazing!
Jeff skipping rocks
Hike to Queenstown hill:
The view from Queenstown hill.
Kiwi (of course) snack at the summit
Christchurch, New Zealand:
Christchurch was hit by a devastating earthquake in February 2011. A large portion of downtown, known as the Red Zone, is still inaccessible due to the ongoing clean up effort. Right outside the Red Zone a shipping container mall has popped up.
In the shipping container stores you can find banks, clothing stores, super markets, coffee shops, restaurants, and a post office.
A glimpse into the Red Zone
Christ Church Cathedral was severely damaged during the earthquake and sadly is scheduled for demolition. If you look closely, you can see the remaining section of the cathedral in the background. With all of the tragedy that followed the earthquake, Christchurch is springing back and the locals are very optimistic about the future.
Ferburger!!!!! Love it! So I am totally commenting on all of your posts. It looks like y'all are having a blast and I cannot wait to hear the stories. Have you realized that traveling is EXHAUSTING yet? Make sure to take some days to do absolutely nothing or else you will go crazy and your immune system will get low and the next thing you know you are shitting your pants on a night train to Chiang Mai....anyways...you know how it goes.
