Last Day in Bangkok

On our last day in Bangkok we went in search of what we thought was a rather large park we saw on a map. Unfortunately it ended up being the King of Thailand's residence and we were not about to receive an invitation. We did come across several interesting sights during our walk.

There was an enormous standing Buddha peeking at us through the buildings.

For a perspective of its size, Shelly is standing at the bottom of the frame.

There were large clay pots spread around the temple grounds filled with lily pads and aquatic flowers.

This gorgeous white building turned out to be the National Library of Thailand.

On our way to catch the water taxi we found this gentleman selling all sorts of fish and eels (at the bottom of the frame).

Fresh catfish for sale.

The water taxi we caught was filled with young Buddhist monks.

We also did some laundry in the bathtub of our hotel. The humidity did not allow our clothes to dry, so  Shelly had to break out the hotel hair dryer.
